Verify Urine Test Strips

Measuring with urine strips is the most affordable method to maintain control over your blood glucose levels

Urine Strips or Urinalysis Strips consist of a strip of plastic material, approximately 5 mm wide, that have small pads impregnated with chemicals that react with the compounds present in urine, thus producing a characteristic color.

This type of analysis is very common in control and monitoring of diabetic patients. The test can be read up to 2 minutes after the immersion of the strip into urine.

Maintaining control over your glucose levels should not be a reason to spend large amounts of money, in Diamedic Import we offer the following 2 alternatives for you to make your measurements with our urine strips:

Correct technique for Measuring with Urine Strips:

To perform the test, completely immerse the test strip for a short period of time, in a well-mixed urine sample; then remove the strip from the container by resting the edge of the strip over the edge of the container to remove excess urine. Let the strip rest for the time necessary for the reactions to take place, and finally compare the colors that appear with the chromatic scale located at the label of your product.

Incorrect technique can produce false results, for example, leukocytes and red cells precipitate in the bottom of the container and it is possible not to detect them if the sample is not mixed; and in the same way, an excess of urine in the strip after being extracted, can produce overflow of the pads, causing the reagents of adjacent pads to mix distorting the colors. To ensure that this does not occur it is recommended to dry the edge of the strip on absorbent paper
