Biological Safety Cabinets

NU-543

Class II, Type A2

LabGard® model NU-543 is available in an 8, 10, or 12 inches (203, 254, or 305 mm) access opening. NU-543 is an effective primary engineering control in obtaining the optimum product quality while reducing the potential for exposure of both product and personnel to airborne biological or particulate chemical agents in low to moderate risk-hazard research and drug preparation or product operations by monitoring and controlling real-time airflow to maintain accurate laminar airflow and a dynamic air barrier.
Class II: Provides protection to staff, products and the environment through the use of laminar air flow and HEPA filtration when seeking optimal control of product quality while reducing the possibility of exposure
Type A2: Recirculates 70% of air inside the cabinet

NU-813

Class I

Containment Ventilated Enclosure (CVE)

The LabGard® ES NU-813 Bench Top Class I Containment Ventilated Enclosure (CVE) is a benchtop containment cabinet intended to provide personnel protection when handling low-risk aerosols and particulate matter. To protect people working in the lab, the cabinet provides an air barrier, which minimizes the chance that any contaminants generated within migrate into the room.
Equipped with a HEPA filter, the air flows through the cabinet then exits through the filter, which removes any contaminants that could put personnel at risk. This containment ventilated enclosure (CVE) is equipped with an electronic control system for easy usage, as well as an ultra-high-efficiency motor, which can help you save energy and cut energy bill costs in the lab.
Dynamic Air Barrier
The LabGard® ES Nu-813 Bench Top Class I Containment Cabinet is equipped with an air barrier for personnel protection. The cabinet has a strong inflow air velocity - at 80 fpm (.40 m/s), which minimizes the risk of contaminant migration.
Class I: Equipment designed for general microbiological research with low and moderate risk agents.

CO2 Incubators

CO2 incubators are key for biological and medical laboratories. They allow the necessary environmental control and isolate cell cultures from external conditions and contamination. The control focuses on three main factors:
Temperature
The normal temperature for the human body, 37 ° C, is an optimum temperature to grow most cell cultures. The cells must remain within a narrow temperature range, more or less a few tenths of a degree, to avoid conditions that threaten the viability of cell culture or that create a significant delay in growth and impact on schedules.
Relative Humidity
Inadequate relative humidity (RH) inside the growth chamber prevents medium desiccation. The minimum RH can be as low as 75 to 80%. More commonly, the RH should remain above 90%.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Cells require environments within a specific pH range, often from 7.0 to 7.7, for optimal growth. The growth environment includes a pH buffer, often based on CO2-bicarbonate, to help maintain stable pH levels. Atmospheric CO2 interacts with moisture to create carbonic acid that can raise the pH of the growth medium. The control of atmospheric CO2 helps to maintain the constant pH of the growth medium.
